Varscona Theatre

By Client, Commission, News, Paintings, Uncategorized No Comments

Last year I had presented a number of my prints at the Varscona Theatre for an upcoming show the took place in Edmonton.  In addition, the opening night they were announcing that they received the funding to renovate the theatre in order to provide more space and additional rooms for all the theatre companies that are operating out the cramped older building.  As I was putting up the show, they asked me if I would be interested in painting the theatre as it is now.  It is something that they wanted to keep a piece of the old theatre around and used it as a promotional piece, as well as, a piece that prints could be sold of.  I was totally in!  So here is the final result, you can order prints through the Varscona Theatre!

Artist in Residence

By News, Uncategorized No Comments

So last night there was a segment on CTV Edmonton News, about a Artist in Residence that I am doing at the Little Friends Nursery.  I having so much fun with the little ones, but it has certainly been a challenge working with 2-5 year olds  and developing a project that would work with the varying ages/abilities.  Each day has been an adventure.  There will also be a “Gallery” like show at the end of it all, so I will be sure to show you the end results. Here is a link to the news broadcast.

Meeting with Mayor

By News, Uncategorized One Comment

Many, many, many moons ago a blog called Girls and Bicycles mentioned me and my work.  The owner, Sarah Chan has been a great supporter of mine at the beginning of my career, adding a all so importing means of getting my work in front of new people.  Fast forward a few years, and I am close to supporting myself solely  on my creative work, and her husband (Don Iveson) is the newest Mayor of Edmonton.  To show my gratitude and support, I thought it was only fitting to give them the original painting of City Hall from my Edmonton Series I.  Sara was so kind to arrange a pleasant Saturday afternoon meeting with Don where I could present him with the painting and snap a few photos.

The Shamrock Curling Club

By News, Uncategorized 2 Comments

A great man with great taste named Chris, contacted me a few weeks back to help dress up the interior of The Shamrock Curling Club.  The membership is a great mixture of young and experienced and though the facility is one of the older ones in the city, it continues to be a very active.  To continue to inspire younger curlers to use the facilities, Chris has been working bringing new life, on such way was to display my work in the main lobby looking onto the ice.  Many thanks to him!
