Just finished up a new personal illustration today. It is part of a new series of inspirational works that I hope one day will turn into a children’s book or short graphic story.
Many, many, many moons ago a blog called Girls and Bicycles mentioned me and my work. The owner, Sarah Chan has been a great supporter of mine at the beginning of my career, adding a all so importing means of getting my work in front of new people. Fast forward a few years, and I am close to supporting myself solely on my creative work, and her husband (Don Iveson) is the newest Mayor of Edmonton. To show my gratitude and support, I thought it was only fitting to give them the original painting of City Hall from my Edmonton Series I. Sara was so kind to arrange a pleasant Saturday afternoon meeting with Don where I could present him with the painting and snap a few photos.
During the Media splash for the Lululemon store opening, Sarah Pratt from the Edmonton Journal and I spoke a few times for an interview. We also met during the opening, chatted a drink, and did some photos outside in front of the new design. The story that she wrote ran in the Feb 14 issue of The Journal.
